Have Questions?

You will probably find the answers below:

Business Transformation Managers, Leaders and Consultants use HOBA® to manage the transformation projects and programs for themselves and their clients. These Transformation personnel are typically internal staff, external agent or agency consultancies.

HOBA® (House of Business Architecture®) is the world’s first business-led Business Transformation framework that was written with the Business, by the Business, for the Business and to used and owned by the Business to run and manage their digital and business transformations projects and programs.

HOBA® is trusted by the UK Government, FTSE-100 and Startups across the world. The industries that HOBA® has and is used in range from government, public service, central government, banking, finance and financial services to manufacturing, retail to fast moving consumer goods (FMCG). The list is endless. If your business or client’s business needs to transform from its current operating model to its future Target Operating Model (TOM) then you can use HOBA®!

No, but clients we have worked with enjoyed it so much that they decided to change careers and become one (Business Architect)!

You don’t have to be a Business Architect or Business Consultant, but it is preferable that you have some understanding of business, change and project management. HOBA® was designed FOR the Business (that’s the ‘Business’ as in Business People – Business Operations, Board and C-Suite level), written in a language the Business can understand (their language), to take back control of their Business AND Business Transformation from Technology (that’s ‘Technology’ People – Technology Architects, and Technology Board level members e.g. CIOs, CTOs etc.).

HOBA® is different from other approaches in the way it was developed. HOBA® has been in use with private clients over 10+ years, before it was made public in the first time in late 2018 when it was published in our now bestselling book The Business Transformation Playbook®.

HOBA® was developed WITH the Business, BY the Business, to be USED and OWNED by the Business. It was and is written in a language the Business know and understand – their own. It’s not to say other approaches are better or worse, they are different.

HOBA® is aligned however with other approaches including TOGAF®, Project Management (Waterfall), Agile Scrum, SAFe® (Scaled Agile Framework), APQC® (American Productivity and Quality Centre) Process Classification Framework (PCF), and Benefits Realisation Management (BRM). For more information, refer to Alignment with Other Approaches here.

You should consider using HOBA® as the structured process and framework to transform your or your clients business if you are looking to use an agile approach to get you or your client through their transformation, that provides the clear and logical methodology that the business can know and understand, that will allow you to get them onboard faster with how you will manage the transformation, what you will actually do, and why you will do it, so they not only buy in to your approach and support it, but they champion it, feel like they are in control (because they are), that you and them fulfil their Vision, achieve their Strategic Objectives and realise the planned Business Benefits as planned when they expect, not wasting time chasing mirages and ‘new shiny objects’ that consultants are notorious for doing to their clients, wasting valuable time and money creating reams and reams of colourful pretty presentations that are “interesting but (sadly) useless”!

Be warned – the HOBA® method contains models and diagrams, but only the absolute necessary ones, the ones that add real value, and do the job they were designed to do – move the transformation towards its goal, and that is transforming the business, contrary what others will tell you!
